On October 8, 2025, the final international meeting of the Skills Competitions for VET Development project was held, organised by Łukasiewicz – Institute of Sustainable Technologies and WorldSkills Romania, with the support of the Ucecom “Spiru Haret” College in Bucharest, an event dedicated to dialogue on the future of professions and the role of skills competitions in the development of vocational education and training.

During the round table debate, representatives of the Ministry of Education, the National Agency Erasmus+, partners of the Erasmus+ KA2 SkillsComp project, together with experts from WorldSkills Romania, discussed how vocational competitions and the membership of Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania in WorldSkills International and WorldSkills Europe can contribute to the development of vocational and technical education, focusing on the following aspects:

  • Experiences gained during participation in EuroSkills Herning 2025
  • Resources and models of good practice, such as WorldSkills international standards and WorldSkills assessment methodology
  • The use of Erasmus+ grants as a strategic tool for the development of vocational and technical education

In addition, the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Education and Tourism, Sorin Ion, emphasised the importance of cooperation between public and private entities in developing vocational and technical education, as well as the synergy among existing initiatives in this field.

The partners of the SkillsComp project from Poland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia, together with Gabriel Zorzini, director of the Ucecom “Spiru Haret” College in Bucharest, visited workshops in automotive mechanics, cosmetology, and hairdressing, where they learned about best practices and the high level of student preparation.

We want to thank everyone who contributed to this project dedicated to the development of vocational education!
