The SkillsComp project held its kick-off meeting on December 7, 2022 in Radom, Poland. The event was hosted by the coordinating institution Łukasiewicz – Institute for Sustainable Technologies. The primary objective of the meeting was to bring together project partners and discuss the work plan across the the Work Packages and address administrative issues for a smooth implementation of the project in the next 36 months.

The state of skills competitions in partner countries was analysed. We discussed the experience of partner countries in preparation for EuroSkills, documentation necessary for national skills competitions as well as the requirements and methods for recruiting competitors. We observed that organization of vocational skills competitions requires engagement of many people performing different roles: team leaders, managers, skills experts, technical assistants, workshop managers, health and safety officers. In SkillsComp project we would like to develop a competency based profile of a skills competition coordinator – a person who will be the contact point between schools and national institutions representing WorldSkills International or WorldSkills Europe in Poland, Romania, Czech Republic and Slovakia.
